The Journey, a project of Indiana Youth Services Association, is home to a variety of programs that seek to support the renewal and professional development of current and prospective youth workers in Indiana and around the country. The Journey serves in particular those who have a passion for serving young people – both practicing professionals and students who are considering making youth work part of their career.
The Executive Journey Fellowship is a year-long program for youth professionals. Each year 25 youth workers are selected to create a renewal community and attend four in-state retreats to invest in their own personal growth and professional development.
The Journey Fellowship for New Professionals in Youth Work provides an opportunity for aspiring youth workers, who are new to the profession (1-4 years), a collegial atmosphere in which to jump-start their experience and contribution within the field. The year-long fellowship program includes four retreats, skill development, mentoring and networking opportunities.
The Journey Fellowship for Students is an opportunity for students to explore careers working with youth and become better grounded in who they are. The fellowship includes opportunities to learn youth career options and explore the field through internships, attend retreats and network with youth-serving professionals.
